Factors influencing the need for post operative ventilation in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage

چکیده
Introduction: Patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) frequently require monitoring, however planned ventilatory support may not be necessary in the post-operative period. In resource constraints scenarios, reserving an intensive care unit (ICU) bed and ventilator lead to problems like delay surgery definite care. With this study, we aim identify factors that influence need for ventilation patients aSAH. Methodology: A retrospective study over a period of six years who underwent surgical clipping aneurysm were intubated pre-operatively was conducted. Aneurysm confirmed by Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) or Computerized Tomographic (CTA). Demographic data clinico-radiological Hunt Hess grade, Modified Fischers Grade location collected. Results: Of 62 identified period, 17 excluded as they preoperative 45 included, there 15 male patients. these only 23 (51.11%) failed successfully extubated. Clinical such score ≥ 3 (p value<0.001), WFNS grade ≥3 value<0.001) intraoperative blood loss 425 ml value=0.001) associated higher chances failure extubate. Presenting GCS ≥14 had extubation postoperatively. However, radiological no significant association. Conclusion: The demand ICU SAH is estimated. Simple clinical can better predict reduce burden bed.

Prognostic factors for outcome in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to describe prognostic factors for outcome in a large series of patients undergoing neurosurgical clipping of aneurysms after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). METHODS Data were analyzed from 3567 patients with aneurysmal SAH enrolled in 4 randomized clinical trials between 1991 and 1997. The primary outcome measure was the Glasgow outcome sca...

متن کاملFactors influencing return to work after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage.
BACKGROUND Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) is a type of stroke that affects women and men with a mean age of 50 years. Return to work (RTW) has been cited as a strategic goal of patients after injury; however, success rates are low in multiple studies. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate factors influencing RTW after aSAH. The study design was a cross-sectional des...

A neurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) is bleeding into the subarachnoid space from a cerebral aneurysm, defined as a thin-walled outpouching on one of the cerebral arteries. 1 SAH represents 0.8% to 15% of strokes and has a low incidence of 0.03 to 0.2 per 1000 person-years with a female preponderance. 2,3 However, SAH usually occurs at a relatively young age and has a high 1-month case fa...

Background and Purpose Scientific communication in medicine can be effective only if reports are based on unequivocal criteria for clinical conditions or specific diagnoses. Methods We reviewed all articles about subarachnoid hemorrhage published in nine neurosurgical or neurological journals from 1985 through 1992 and assessed the presence and the precision of definitions used for reporting th...
